Movie Night

Finally watched The Proposition tonight. And I haven't seen a film in quite some time with such a lack of redemption. It's the pornography of films. Though It's dark in a much needed way, all the characters are portrayed sinful, wretched and vile. There are two incredible scenes. One involves a man wringing out a large amount of blood from a whip onto the ground, forming a puddle. And the second involves a slave who is freed, but only after he had helped his master shed blood. What makes this scene amazing, as the slave exits through the gate, he turns around, faces his master and removes his shoes placing them on the ground. He then walks away.
If you were to read Romans 3:9-18 before watching the film, it will all make sense.
Be sure to see it at least once. But don't plan on making out with your girlfriend or wife while watching, a total mood killer. And if you do watch, plan on having a strong stomach or two. Especially with Nick Cave composing the soundtrack. Almost darker then the film itself.
