TV

Has anyone seen these commercials? (Be sure to see the long versions.)

The Old Navy ad with the dog hanging from a basket on a clothes line hoisted up 7 stories. Three girls open a window looking concerned for the poor animal, and then, out of the blue, guys start jumping out of windows, off the roof top landing and balancing on the wire trying to save the dog. After two dozen men are out on the line, the dog jumps out and into the girls arms. I know this description sounds pretty lame, but it's a really sweet ad!

I also love the marching band playing down a New York street all in rhythm, with brass and drum beats. It's an ad for VH1 HipHop Honors. I think it's cool. Their uniforms are black and yellow.

One ad I never get sick of seeing even after a month or so of airing, the discovery Channel commercial. It's great! It runs around a minute long, and you don't know it's for the DC until the end, when they say, "Lets All Discover", (or something like that). It's 20 or so clips of people doing out of the ordinary things like cliff jumping into a dark cave or moonwaking out of a barber shop then onto the moon. It's inspiring. It reminds me not to settle for mediocrity.

Genesis, the pilot episode of "Heroes" is now available on iTunes. Which is the next LOST.

Also, does anyone else think Ashton Kutcher has grown up? This guy is so cool. I'm almost positive this has come from being married.

Snow Patrol will be on Jay Leno Friday night. That's the 29th of September.
